Cory Phillips - Youth Minister
Cory is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee and has a passion for seeing God's glory shown through the daily lives of middle and high school students. He came to Crossgates UMC in October of 2010, He enjoys soccer, the soccer channel, English football (also known as soccer), playing the drums, basketball, JESUS!, good music, but not much of a coffee drinker (probably because he already has way too much energy). Cory has a degree in Biblical Studies from Mississippi College. He married Abbey Phillips last November and they have a dog named Liam(after the Actor Liam Neeson).
"But I do not consider my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus to testify to the grace of God." Acts 20:24

Kyle McDill - Youth Coordinator/Small Group Leader
Kyle was born in Louisville, MS and has lived in Jackson since 2005. Kyle attended college at Jackson State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History. In 2010 he spent 2 months in China with a study abroad program where he studied Chinese culture and Mandarin Chinese. His hobbies are reading, language, video games, archery, playing music, sports, sci-fi, and learning about other cultures and religions. Kyle has been a member of Crossgates UMC since 2009. He married Kaci McDill in November 2009 at Crossgates UMC. Kyle works for Best Buy as an Inventory Specialist but aspires to be an educator. After joining Crossgates UMC Kyle felt called to service and since has led the Mosaic Sunday school class for young adults and has taken on the role as youth coordinator at Crossgates UMC.
“Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.” Ephesians 6:10-11

In 2005, she felt the tug at her heart to “get back to God,” and has been trying to follow His path for her ever since. She is the wife of Kyle McDill and an aunt to their 6 nephews. She likes playing softball, running, reading, cooking, vacationing at Walt Disney World, hiking in the Smokies, and chocolate!
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

Pat was born in Tallahassee, FL. He came to Jackson in 2005 to attend Belhaven University where he recieved his BA in Sports Ministry. While in Jackson, Pat served as Youth Director at a United Methodist Church in college. Through his years in ministry, God continued to call him to service. Pat now works at Stop Hunger Now as the Warehouse Manager. In his spare time he enjoy playing sports, watching re-runs of Oprah, and serving as a volunteer with the youth at Crossgates UMC.

Abbey grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. She moved to Mississippi in 2006 and attended Mississippi College. She graduated in 2010 with a degree in Secondary Education. She now teaches and coaches at Brandon High School. She has volunteered with youth for many years now, and has a passion to see young ladies grow into godly women that make an impact for the Kingdom of God. She loves coffee, good books, chick-flicks, track and field, and playing soccer with her husband.
